Thomas HONEGGER (2000)

Cultural symbols in translation: animal lore in late English and Scottish poetry

Micrologus: Natura, scienze e società medievali. Nature, Sciences and Medieval Societies, 8(2):489-509.

Compares the use of animal imagery in Chaucer (especially the Canterbury Tales and the Parliament of Fowls) and Robert Henryson's Morall Fabillis, arguing that Chaucer uses animals as codes with which to express ideas, while Henryson limits himself to an allegorical interpretation of animals.
